In 1915 the first independent chronograph push piece was invented and went on to perfect the stop/start function in 1923. The patented innovation opened new doors for the firm who has since gone on to craft the Duel Timezone Caliber B04 and the Worldtime Caliber B05. A pivotal point in achieving their acclaimed reputation, was the time at which the Navitimer was launched in 1962, securing even more popularity when Scott Carpenter took to the skies on his orbital flight aboard the Aurora 7 – the first space-going wrist chronograph. In 1962 Breitling presented the first self-winding chronograph movement and in 1984 launched the beginnings of their exquisite Chronomat series.
