Quartz Watches

First developed in 1969 by Seiko, the quartz watch movement has revolutionized the industry.
A quartz watch uses an electronic oscillator regulated by a piece of crystal quartz to keep time. Thanks to its accuracy and cost, it soon became popular worldwide. The  quartz watch mechanism involves using electric signals from batteries to charge tiny capacitor plates located inside the glass-encased quartz crystal.

When charged, these plates vibrate at high speeds which then provide an electrical impulse back into the circuitry within the watches interior components such as gears and springs, thus controlling their functions with extreme precision - providing reliable accuracy day after day for years on end.
