An Insight Into OMEGA Days - The 2022 Novelties

Explore Omega’s 2022 Novelties here at Berry’s Jewellers, with several exciting new releases belonging to the Seamaster, Speedmaster and Constellation collections.

The 2022 Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Collection

Kicking off OMEGA’s 2022 novelties are some new additions to the OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean series – Omega’s range of underwater tools for professional divers. The collection has always been renowned for its impressive water-resistant capabilities, legible dials and robust case constructions and is already home to one of the most advanced dive watches ever created – the Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep Professional with a 15,000-meter water-resistant capability. After all, it made it out alive having ventured down to the deepest underwater point known to mankind when attached to the exterior of Victor Vescovo’s submarine during the Five Deeps Expedition challenge in 2019.

The new 45.5mm Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep models are tested beyond endurance and have been equipped, like other models from the series, with helium escape valves. They also promise a staggering 6000-meter water resistance. The range caters for fans of titanium and the brand’s O-MEGASTEEL – the company’s new nickel-free alloy that brings better all-round specifications to the watch. The alloy joins other proprietary materials developed by Omega like its Sedna Gold, Canopus Gold, and Moonshine Gold. With better resistance to corrosion and yielding twice the strength of other steel alloys - the O-MEGASTEEL cases come in the form of two blue-black gradient dial versions (one on an O-MEGASTEEL bracelet, the other on a rubber band), a white dial version with blue numerals and a matching blue bezel offered in the same two band options, and two grey-black gradient dials with vivid orange bezels on an O-OMEGA steel bracelet or black rubber band. In addition to this, a sand-blasted Grade 5 titanium version is also offered. It features a brushed ceramic bezel with a Liquidmetal™ diving scale, a black titanium dial and “Manga Lugs” supporting a striped NATO strap in black and cyan.

The New Omega Seamaster Diver 300M Collection

Defined by a useful 300-meter water resistance and a helium escape valve, the Omega Seamaster 300M watch collection offers a varied selection of modern dive watches for professional and recreational diving enthusiasts. The new Seamaster Diver 300M watches for 2022 are now offered in a stunning olive-green colour. Celebrating Omega’s dive watch heritage, these new green Seamaster Diver 300M watches are equipped with the brand’s high-tech spec, including a set of legible skeletonised hands, a helium escape valve at 10 o’clock, a robust 300-meter water-resistant steel case and a distinguishable wave-effect dial.

The new 43mm green Omega Seamaster Diver 300M watches are powered by the self-winding Calibre 8800 movement with a Co-Axial escapement. Resistant to magnetic fields reaching up to 15,000 gauss, this self-winding movement capable of producing a 55-hour power reserve is just one of the many reliable and long-lasting elements belonging to the Diver 300M watch’s design. The stunning green coloured dials of these two new Seamaster Diver 300M watches are crafted from polished green ceramic and are adorned with laser-engraved waves that add a three-dimensional effect to the entire display. In addition to luminous blue indexes and an hour hand and a contrasting green luminous minute hand – the dot at 12 o’clock on each model’s unidirectional rotating bezel also illuminates when in the dark. The new green Omega Seamaster Diver 300M is offered on an integrated matching green rubber strap or a stainless steel bracelet with Omega’s patented extendable foldover rack and pusher clasp, equipped with an additional diver extension feature.

The Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra Collection

Seven stunning new shades of the Aqua Terra watch series have arrived, providing a vibrant colour palette to enjoy alongside a steel-on-steel aesthetic. Echoing a colour spectrum that spans from the ocean to the earth – these models are available in two different sizes of 34mm and 38mm and all are powered by a Co-Axial Master Chronometer movement. These new models flaunt polished stainless steel cases equipped with 150-meter water resistance, along with strong sapphire crystal glass fronts, and a polished and brushed stainless steel bracelet.

Each dial from the new releases follows the same format as the archetypal Aqua Terra watch. Shard-like hour indexes surround a set of central hands – all of which have been crafted from 18ct white gold. The models all feature a date window at 6 o’clock and boast the famous Omega Seamaster lettering at 12 o’clock. The beautifully rounded bracelet links of these striking new models enhance a refined and opulent look on the lady’s wrist, whilst at the heart of each watch, no other than an Omega movement certified at the industry’s highest standard by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology is used. The Calibre 8800 offers a 55-hour power reserve and features a silicon balance spring. The 34mm Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra watches are offered in steel and come with dials in colours of Sandstone, Sea Blue, Lagoon Green, Shell Pink and Lavender. The 38mm models come in dial colours of Sandstone, Sea Blue, Lagoon Green, Saffron and Terracotta.

The 2022 Omega Speedmaster ’57 Collection

Outfitted with an upgraded movement and a slimmer profile, Omega continues the legacy of the Speedmaster ’57 watch, first introduced in 2013 with eight new 40.5mm stainless steel models. With some distinct touches that hark back to the company’s heritage, these new releases offer bold new colours and complete a streamlined look on the wrist. Originally geared for wearing on the race track, the models acting as the inspiration behind the Speedmaster ’57 watch collection were built for auto racing teams and featured a tachymeter scale on the bezel for the first time.

Now with a slimmer design to house a manual-winding movement at their heart, these new 40.5mm Omega Speedmaster ’57 watches sit on the wrist at a depth of 12.9mm and boast a finer bezel adorned with the iconic dot over the 90 mark. The dials of these Speedmaster ’57 watches are arranged in a sandwich construction, donating a three-dimensional effect across the design. The chronograph counters offering a 12-hour totaliser at 3 o’clock and a small second sub-dial at 9 o’clock are arranged in a bi-compax layout. The Super-LumiNova-coated indexed are recessed into the dial, whilst a date window balances these two elements at 6 o’clock. A vintage leather bracelet to match each dial colour sets each one of the new Omega Speedmaster ’57 watches apart. The dial colours come in options of black, deep blue, deep green and burgundy. Adding more vintage style to these models are their “Broad Arrow” hands and brushed-effect steel bezels. Each model is also available on a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet, whilst the leather band for the black model, in particular, is presented in a light brown colour as opposed to a matching colour to its dial.

2022 Omega Speedmaster Moonwatches

The OMEGA Speedmaster Professional Moonwatch is undoubtedly one of the most famous watches of all time and is most renowned for its time spent on the moon. Its iconic status is still enjoyed today and NASA still uses this word-famous chronograph for its manned space missions. Expanding on this legacy are the new Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch Moonshine™ Gold watches, which come in four variations. This 18K Moonshine™ Gold is a proprietary material inspired by the shining moonlight in a dark night sky and is designed to stand out on the wrist. Gold or deep green PVD dial options are available from this new range. The gold dials match the tone of their cases, with black-filled chronograph counters laid out in the 3, 6 and 9 o’clock positions. The sun-brushed 18K Moonshine™ Gold "step" dials are fitted on a matching Moonshine™ bracelet or a black rubber strap. The dial is framed by a black ceramic bezel ring, with an Omega Ceragold™ tachymeter scale for a striking contrast.

Alternatively, the deep green PVD dial options are matched with a tachymeter bezel in the same green hue, crafted from Omega Ceragold™. "Moonwatch" style hands are presented in the same Moonshine™ material and have been treated with Super-LumiNova. The chronograph sub-counters are recessed into the dial and, once again, the model is offered on a polished and brushed Moonshine™ bracelet or a rubber strap – this time in green. All four of the 42mm models are powered by the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 with rhodium-plated finishes and bridges with straight Geneva waves that are displayed through a transparent sapphire crystal glass caseback.

The 2022 Omega Constellation 29mm Watches

With dials crafted from natural Aventurine, there are perhaps no other Omega watches that convey the same understated elegance as these alluring new models. What’s more, no two dials are ever the same, thanks to a special technique applied to the surface of the stone. The new watches are available in red, green and blue aventurine. Six models are crafted from 18ct Sedna Gold – three of which boast shimmering diamond-set bezels – the other three remaining unadorned. The remaining three are crafted from stainless steel with just the bezel crafted from Sedna gold. The bezels of these three variations are also set with round brilliant-cut diamonds.

More diamonds represent the hour markers, whilst the 6 o’clock location holds the date feature in a circular window. These 50-meter water-resistant watches from the Omega Constellation watch collection are all powered by the self-winding Calibre 8700. Fitted with a silicon balance spring to assist with protection from magnetic fields reaching up to 15,000 gauss, this movement offers a 50-hour power reserve and puts its rhodium-plated finishes with Geneva waves in arabesque on show through a transparent sapphire crystal glass front. To complete their vibrant profiles – each Omega Constellation 29mm model is fitted on an alligator leather strap in a colour that coordinates with its respective dial.
