For the Watches and Wonders 2022 event, the manufacturer has revealed a precise instrument that combines both functions in one innovative design, boasting a case adorned with a striking hobnail effect and an unusual dial surface.

This year’s Watches and Wonders 2022 event in Geneva promised to be incredibly impressive. Marking the first physical showcase under this new name and following last year’s fully digital watch event, the Watches and Wonders 2022 showcase did not disappoint, especially for fans of one of the world’s most prestigious watchmakers, Patek Philippe. Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time 5326G

The new Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time watch is equipped with a new self-winding calendar movement that contains a total of eight new patents. Its impressively complex design combines the Annual Calendar and the Travel Time function in one, displaying a date that corresponds to local time. To do this, it uses the local-time hour wheel to drive the calendar, all inside a 41mm 18ct white gold case crafted to the familiar rounded style of the popular Calatrava timepiece. A charcoal grey dial is adorned with a granular structure and visible Arabic numeral hour markers. At the top of the dial, the day and date features are displayed, whilst underneath this, local and home time is displayed with a day and night indication. Below this is a moon phase indication and a small second sub-counter at 6 o’clock. The case of the new Patek Philippe Annual Calendar Travel Time watch features case sides adorned with the Clous de Paris hobnail guilloched pattern and comes with two interchangeable straps to transform the look of the watch: one beige calfskin with a nubuck finish and one black calfskin with an embossed fabric motif and beige stitching.

Patek Philippe Calatrava 5226G

Patek Philippe also releases a smaller and simpler version of this stylish-looking Calatrava, with a 40mm white gold case. The Caliber 26‑330 S C is put on display through the back of the case as seen in the design of the new Annual Calendar version. Gold applied numerals with beige luminescent coating create a simple and pared-back display for wearing daily. The guilloche motif on the case continues throughout the sides of this pure round Calatrava case, making this a timeless and classic-looking dress watch for 2022.
