Ploprof – The world’s most distinctive dive watch

Ploprof, known as the “Seamaster Professional 600,” holds the title of the world’s most distinctive dive watch. OMEGA’s ingenious approach of securely attaching the crystal to the robust monobloc case eliminated the need for a helium escape valve.

Crafted in O-MEGASTEEL, the 2023 Ploprof pays homage to OMEGA’s original model, which made its debut in 1971. It features a sun-brushed Summer Blue dial that exudes a sense of elegance. The bezel ring is made of sapphire crystal, emulating the chemically reinforced monolithic crystal used in the early versions of the watch. This transparent crystal, with a varnished blue back, reveals the light blue diving scale beneath it. The iconic monobloc case encompasses the renowned screwed-in crown and the distinct security pusher at 2 o’clock, which, in this edition, boasts a blue ceramic ring. Completing the 70’s aesthetic is a perforated blue rubber strap. The watch’s hard-working movement is powered by OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8912.

Ultra Deep – Tribute to our world-record dive

Ultra Deep

The OMEGA Seamaster Planet Ocean Ultra Deep timepiece pays tribute to OMEGA’s historic world-record dive in 2019, where the very first Ultra Deep watches ventured to the deepest point on Earth. Following this remarkable achievement at the Mariana Trench, OMEGA harnessed the groundbreaking technology to create a 6,000m collection available to the public. This watch underwent rigorous testing in real oceanic conditions during its development, exhibiting water resistance up to an astounding 6,000 metres (20,000 ft.) and meeting the ISO 6425:2018 standard for saturation divers’ watches.

The 45.5 mm model boasts a sturdy O-MEGASTEEL case and bracelet, ensuring durability and reliability in the harshest environments. The dial of this timepiece is truly extraordinary, paying homage to the enigmatic depths of the ocean. Its intricate pattern precisely replicates the Challenger Deep, meticulously mapped by the Five Deeps team using nearly one million sonar points. The dial’s lacquered finish, achieved by allowing layers of lacquer to gracefully flow across its surface, evokes a captivating sense of depth.

Adding a touch of playfulness, the dial holds a hidden surprise. When exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light, the words “OMEGA WAS HERE” become visible, serving as a testament to the record-breaking dive of 10,935 metres. It also indicates the Western, Central, and Eastern Pools of the Challenger Deep. Concealed within this remarkable timepiece is OMEGA’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer 8912 movement.
