About Tissot

Charles-Félicien Tissot and Charles-Émile Tissot founded Chs Tissot & Fils in the year of 1852 – a pocket watch assembly factory, as it was then, in the Swiss Jura mountains of Le Locle. The family took on the general day-to-day role of the business, helping it to evolve with them, into one of the world’s most established and renowned watchmaking companies to date. 1853 represented the year of the first mass produced pocket watch, however it was not until 1919 that a tonneau shaped case belonging to the Tissot Porto Watch was produced, a style that influenced the Art Deco period. A watch featuring 24 different timezones then brought an entirely new concept to watchmaking for Tissot in 1953.

In 1974, Tissot began their relationship with influential bodies of the sporting world, sponsoring the Formula 1 industry and later, cycling and ice hockey championships. Since then, the brand have added to their portfolio, official timekeepers of the NBA, the FIM Superbike Championship, NASCAR, MotoGP, the Ice Hockey World Championship, and the International Cycling Union and the 17th Asian Games. Of Course the Tissot T-Sport collection was created in honour of many of these achievements with a huge range of masculine-inspired multifunctional timepieces equipped with feature-packed specs. Brand ambassadors include NBA Stars: Damian Lillard, Tony Parker and Klay Thompson. Cyclist Primož Roglič and Chinese actors: Simon Gong Jun, Huang Xiaoming and Liu Yifei.

Other iconic Tissot watch collections include the likes of the T-Classic collection, the Heritage collection and the T-Lady collection, as well as a long line of special editions created in honour of their work in the sports industry. The PRC200 Tour de France Special Edition is a silver-on-black design, with streaks of shocking yellow colour running throughout the design. Tissot also created the T-Race, MotoGP 2016 Special Edition watch with a stylish black carbon dial and a profound set of chronograph dials decorated with red hints.

Tissot T-Classic watches are however much more subdued. They facilitate the needs of both ladies and gentlemen looking for something simple and understated for everyday use. That is not to say however, that the range does not cater for something more luxurious. Many Tissot T-Classic models feature a selection of robust materials fused with PVD coated precious metal finishes. The T-Lady watch collection of course, was designed to enhance femininity on the wrist. Answering the needs of the modern woman, the timepieces appear classic yet highly functional for dressing with a variety of different attires. Stunning mother of pearl dials, petal-shaped hour and minute hands, and yellow gold PVD coated bezels name but a few of the extra special touches applied to some of the T-Lady range.
