Rado’s beginnings first started out in 1917 by the company name Schlup & Co in a small factory - a converted part of brothers Fritz, Ernst and Werner’s parents’ home. By the end of the Second World War the company was one of the largest producers of watch movements in the entire world. As well as creating impressive water-resistant watches and developing globally-leading timepieces made from innovative materials like high tech ceramic and plasma high tech ceramic- Rado also refined their skills in crafting watches for ladies. Ladies Rado watches now make up a huge part of the company’s entire collection, with qualities that are equal to the gent’s range in terms of performance, robustness, endurance and precision.
Ladies Rado watches have a distinct modern style. The timepieces will certainly appeal to those who prefer a contemporary wardrobe. Some of Rado’s largest and most memorable milestones to date have been the world’s first scratch-proof watch – the Diastar – a watch with a face covered edge-to-edge in sapphire crystal, and the launch of their innovative high tech ceramic which broke watchmaking norms in the 1980’s, revolutionising the watch industry forever. Ladies Rado watches made from cermet – a titanium based ceramic product – also made their entrance with a huge impact. Pioneering plasma high tech ceramic Rado watches exuding a metallic glow were another popular choice during this time for ladies in search of a modern luxurious timepiece with an edge.
Ladies Rado watches featured in our compelling collections here at Berry’s, include the likes of the Coupole, the Diamaster, the Centrix, the Integral and the True. Despite each timepiece bearing an unmistakable modern charm, these collections also have their very own distinct style and feature a variety of different shaped cases, innovative materials, functions and precious metals. Choose from bi-colour black ceramic and rose gold PVD coated bracelets from the Rado Integral collection, to perfectly round sculpted black ceramic cases surrounding yellow gold coloured hands from the Rado Centrix watch collection.
Timepieces like the Rado True 30mm Black Ceramic Diamonds watch from our ladies Rado collection, feature elegant diamond dot indexes placed quarterly around the dial. A smooth sapphire crystal glass lens grants perfect access to the yellow gold coloured minute, second and hour hands, along with a discreet date aperture at the third hour. The watch’s case and bracelet are crafted from black high-tech ceramic with smooth flowing lugs that taper in, melting beautifully into the links of the bracelet, creating a somewhat sporty look. Alternatively, designs like the Rado Diamaster ladies watch with a stainless steel and rose gold PVD bracelet look disciplined and sophisticated – perfect for those in need of a watch for business or long hours spent in the office. The silver dial of this watch is adorned with elongated rose gold coloured baton indexes which match the polished finishes on the central hands. A legible date aperture adds practical appeal to this timepiece, whilst the bi-colour links of the bracelet are perfect for transforming into a glamorous piece of jewellery for night time use.
