Biel-based luxury watch company Omega, first found their place on the map with their astounding sports watches. Their tough, competitive, speed-induced timepieces were the perfect companions for those professional Spacemen that took on the challenges of the Apollo Moon Missions, yet the brand’s legendary journey does not end there. The Omega De Ville collection pays homage to the watchmaker’s technical skill, along with the ability to merge these skills with a keen eye for detail. Watches of the Omega De Ville Prestige collection are elegant, classic and timeless.
Omega De Ville watches are powered by the most modern calibre technology and the exclusive Omega Co-Axial escapement. The movements are incredibly powerful – built for endurance, their power reserves are extraordinary, and their silicon anti-magnetic components make them ultra-precise. Watches from the Omega De Ville collection will appeal to two types of people – those with an affinity towards revolutionary mechanical self-winding wristwatches, and their constantly evolving developments – and those who are magnetised towards classic designs. Lovers of both qualities combined, will find several timepieces from this collection that inspire and delight.
Omega De Ville watch cases are finished in a number of different choice materials; platinum, stainless steel, yellow gold, or red gold. The dials comprise of deep-brushed rhodium silver, mother of pearl, white, deep blue or blue mother of pearl – the lady’s timepieces of which often have diamond dot indices and embellished bezels, along with Super LumiNova patterns to the dial itself. Omega De Ville watches make for superb dress watches. Designed with a strong focus on luxury materials and supreme finishes, both the ladies and gents range will cater for those special celebratory evenings or once-in-a-lifetime occasions. One particular timepiece for example, from the lady’s range, is the elegant Omega De Ville Ladymatic in a stunning polished stainless steel and 18K Sedna Gold™ case and bracelet. The dial is crafted from beautiful white mother of pearl, whilst the hour indexes are presented in dazzling diamonds. For the gentleman, we have the Omega De Ville Tresor 40mm watch which again, has been dressed in 18k Sedna™ Gold. The timepiece however, is executed on a traditional brown leather strap for a classic yet modest look.
Other lines from the Omega De Ville collection include; the Hour Vision and the De Ville Prestige models. The Omega De Ville Prestige range are as much innovative as they are aesthetically impressive. Watches such as the Prestige Orbis are inspired by the partnership between the brand and Orbis International, together with its Flying Eye Hospital - and feature a unique teddy bear dial pattern and special engraving on the back of each case. The Omega De Ville Hour Vision was introduced in 2007 and is powered by the automatic Caliber 8500 with special Co-Axial escapement, providing a 60 hour power reserve. These classic gentleman’s timepieces feature Roman numerals, leather straps and evoke a subtle sporty feel.
Omega De Ville watches, unlike other collections created by these world-leaders in Swiss-precision, were designed and manufactured in Geneva rather than Biel. The watches still retain many features of the original versions created back in 1967, when Omega first decided to change route with their watch designs. The brand instead, began focusing on a new philosophy of elegant and classic styles – symbolising a chic Geneva-inspired look. It was this decision that went on to allow Omega to develop a whole new icon within the history of watchmaking.
