Noted as the first automatic Nomos watch, Nomos Tangomat watches are described by their manufacturer as masterful, straightforward and upfront. Despite their distinctly simply dials, the good-looking timepieces are universally appealing for their reliability and their precision above all else. The automatic calibre that lies within the heart of the watch is that of the Epsilon movement which was developed in 2005. It works seamlessly as a powerful machine inside these robust stainless steel cases, available in 35mm 38mm and 40mm diameters. This movement was a breakthrough for master engineers at Nomos Glashutte and still promises excellent winding and unbeatable accuracy to this date.
The design of the Nomos Tangomat watch is similar to the Tangente collection, but it forms clean lines and beautiful angles which come together to create a crisp, sharp and utterly sleek design on the wrist. As with all Nomos watches, the case depth is impressively slim, making it a great addition to an office suit, sitting comfortably under the cuff of a shirt until called upon. This sibling design of the Nomos Tangente is slightly larger, bolder and evokes bigger wrist presence. The calibre DUW 5001 provides an impressive power reserve of 43 hours and was the first automatic calibre produced in-house by these extraordinary watchmaking artisans. Those watch wearers who appreciate a vast, easy-to-read dial will find all that they need within the Nomos Tangomat watch.
As an official stockist of Nomos Tangomat watches we offer a variety of different sizes and different finishes within this unique collection. From modest 35mm white galvanized dials to strikingly stealthy ruthenium dials – the choice is yours. These pure breeds are also incredibly versatile. The clear dials and classic leather straps of these watches make them wonderful gifts for the retired gentleman or the young entrepreneur. The Nomos Glashutte Tangomat Datum 38 watch is available in a white or black dial. In the white version, the time is presented in Arabic numerals and alternating baton indexes in a crisp black hue. The central hands are that of tempered blue steel, creating a beautiful contrast against the ice white background. As promised a large legible date aperture sits at 6 o’clock – perfect for reminding the gentleman of those important anniversaries and celebrations in life. As always, the Nomos Glashutte lettering stands proudly underneath the twelfth hour – a name which signifies the finest German craftsmanship. The black Nomos Tangomat watch features central hands and hour markers in the same design, with an accompanying small second dial at 6 o’clock for added functionality. The dial is fitted with an anti reflective and scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass front to protect the surface of the face from denting, dust and undesirable glare.
The Nomos Tangomat GMT 40 watch is perfect for those gentlemen who like the addition of a 24 hour zone. This feature is presented next the third hour on a retrograde style dial, enhanced by a red indicator. All the usual Tangomat features are still present such as the elegantly carved Arabic numerals, the small second dial and the date window, albeit on a broader dial for those wrists with a little more substance.
