IWC Aquatimer Watches

IWC Aquatimer watches are instantly recognisable by the indentations of their rotatable bezels which serve the wearer with an easy-to-grip design, creating an entirely different look and feel compared to rival diver’s watches with their ridged bezels.

The IWC Schaffhausen Aquatimer watch is also unique in that the dive time is set on the inner bezel which is cleverly connected to the outer bidirectional bezel. The inner dive time bezel can only be moved when this outer bezel is turned anticlockwise, eradicating any risk of the diver running out of air too soon! IWC set benchmarks for their expert water resistance.

More on IWC Aquatimer Watches

Primed for any underwater challenge, the Aquatimer watch persuades the wearer to venture deep into the dark depths of the sea, pushing their courage and abilities to the limits. The IWC Aquatimer 2000 divers watch is a fine example of such groundbreaking technology.

IWC Schaffhausen marks its great connections to diving with its world-leading Aquatimer range. It consists of the likes of the iconic Depth Gauge with modifications that promise a safer, more accurate and even more functional timepiece than ever, and special tributes to the English naturalist, geologist and biologist, Charles Darwin. The Swiss luxury watchmakers fit the Aquatimer watches with robust titanium cases, bronze cases and rotating bezels equipped with the brand’s patented Safe Dive system.

First premiered in 1967, the original IWC Aquatimer watches came fitted with a dive time scale positioned underneath the glass on the edge of the dial, which was operated from a second crown, setting them apart from other diver’s watches. The feature gave them an advantageous position within the market for their uniqueness. The Richmond Group went on to manage IWC watches from the year 2000 onwards, their water resistance and leading materials improving by refinement over time.

The IWC Aquatimer Depth Two and Depth Three watches marked yet another revelation in the brand’s success. Fitted with the Depth Gauge feature, which functions peerlessly under depths of 50 metres, the red hand on the dial represents diver’s maximum depth, whilst the blue indicator shows current depth. The innovation is a welcomed attribute to the IWC Aquatimer Depth Two and Depth Three watch which comes with a robust 100 meter water resistant case to protect the internal in-house manufactured movement from damage from external pressures and conditions.

The IWC Aquatimer watch collection also celebrates the Galapagos expedition of the ingenious researcher, Charles Darwin and his many findings throughout his great journey, in which the great theory of evolution was formed. The IWC Aquatimer “Expedition Charles Darwin” and the IWC Aquatimer “Galapagos Islands” watch represent the relationship between IWC Schaffhausen and The Charles Darwin Foundation. Proud of their involvement preserving environmental changes of the world, IWC watches continue to stand for the importance in sustainability and the need for control over invasive factors affecting protected animal species.
