Inspired by music, art and architecture of the sixties and seventies, the Glashutte Original Vintage watch collection celebrates two exciting periods within the last century. The collection comprises of the Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date, the Seventies Panorama Date, the Sixties Panorama Date, the Sixties Chronograph and not forgetting those that go by the simple “Sixties” title. Whilst some of the case designs feature a distinct cushion-shaped profile, others offer the classic round shaped case, making them perfect for wearing as a dress watch or to wear underneath the cuff of an office shirt.
The Sixties designs are both striking and stylish. The typical round form of these cases follow the structure of the Arabic numerals that grace the periphery of the dials to showcase the characteristic look of the sixties. Retro, yet modern and elegant, the Sixties Square Chronograph makes for an unusual alternative to the circular Panorama Date versions, featuring the cushion shaped case that is so often seen in the seventies collection.
The Glashutte Original Seventies designs feature the flowing curves of this era, capturing the spirit of the 1970’s in a fascinating and unique way. These creations showcase an aerodynamic appearance, merged with soft edges and a streamlined look for those who like a sleek finish to their wardrobe. The Seventies Chronograph Panorama Date watch is a design that epitomizes all celebratory aspects of the Vintage collection, including the two retro-inspired chronograph dials at 3 and 9 o’clock, balanced beautifully by a centrally mounted date aperture positioned just above 6 o’clock.
The Glashutte Original Sixties Panorama Date watches are one of our most popular designs here at Berry’s. With dials cast in deep blue, and silver with golden coloured appliques, the gentleman can enjoy the classic appeal of a finely tuned mechanical watch, combined with unparalleled performance. For those gentlemen that are fuelled with unshakable love for a high-end timepiece, the Glashutte Original Sixties Panorama Date watch does a fine job of meeting all those expectations - perfectly polished bezels, intricately crafted hour markers and razor sharp central hands, to name but a few. The sapphire crystal glass front is curved to mimic the look of vintage acrylic crystals, and beckons the gentleman to gaze in through its crisp lens to appreciate some of Glashutte Original’s most delicate works of art. The numbers within the date aperture are perfectly matched to the shade of the accompanying hour markers around the edge of the dial, and designers within the company’s manufacturing house have clearly dedicated great time and effort into creating a backdrop that not only adds dimension and velvety layers to the dial but promotes the perfect contrast for the hand-applied elements.
