Manual wound Glashutte Original watches as they commonly go by the name, strip things back to basics. They embrace simplicity and celebrate traditional watch manufacture in its basic of forms. The connection with one of these Glashutte Original manual watches and the owner will vary from one person to the next, but what remains important is that the wearer uses that time to appreciate the meticulous mechanics behind a luxury brand by getting hands on with their wristwatch via a beautifully polished crown engraved with the iconic double “G” motif.

More on Glashutte Original Manual Winding Watches

A manual Glashutte Original watch obtains its power solely from the wearer’s touch. The owner of the watch must use the guidance of their thumb to feel the tightening of the mainspring – a connection like no other. The hands of the Glashutte Original watch will turn effortlessly on the wrist from that point onwards, until the time comes again for the movement to be wound. Our hand wound Glashutte Original watches will last a lifetime provided that utmost care is taken to look after them, as with any luxury wristwatch. These special timepieces can be handed down as an heirloom from one generation to another as a lasting investment that will only grow in value with age.

A manual Glashutte Original watch also tells the world a lot about the person who wears it. By sporting such a timepiece, those that shake the hand of the lady or gent wearing it will get a feel for who the wearer is – their personality – their style – their attitude to life. The owner is choosing to wear something different from the norm. Manual wound Glashutte watches are not a necessity, they are a luxury – a lifestyle choice. The Glashutte Original PanoReverse watch houses a manually wound in-house developed movement. The calibre 65-01 provides a power reserve of 42 hours and consists of: Glashütte three-quarter plate with stripe finish, screw balance, duplex swan-neck fine adjustment, screwed gold chatons, beveled edges, steel parts polished and a balance bridge engraved by hand. The special sapphire crystal glass back provides an alternative view to the beautiful deep midnight blue and silver dials available from our collection online here at Berry’s.

The Glashutte Original PanoReverse watch with a galvanised matte black part-skeletonised dial, offers smaller dimensions on the wrist of 38mm in diameter. Some of the manually wound movement can be viewed through the centre of the display, alongside features like the off-centre time scale, the power reserve indicator and the small seconds sub-dial. The unique watch feature elements of the in-house manufactured 66-06 movement on display like the stunning jewels and a duplex swan-neck fine adjustment. For a watch that provides a useful 41 hour power reserve, the gentleman is sure to make the most out of the watch’s technical features as well as its use as a dress watch for those more memorable occasions in life.
