As an official stockist of Cartier Tortue watches here at Berry’s, we invite you to discover this special collection to get a true feel for what beauty really stands for in a luxury wristwatch. Cartier Tortue watches are a fusion of cutting edge technology. These immaculate designs behold the secrets to Cartier’s heritage in beautiful craftsmanship. Most lovers of a Cartier watch will be familiar with the classic-look of the tank watch, or the ultra-modern bubble shape of the Ballon de Bleu watch case. The Tortue design however, is unique once again.

Cartier Tortue watches were born at a time when all watches were round. This special timepiece, designed by Louis Cartier, was inspired by the shape of a tortoise’s shell. It stood in stark contrast to the common wristwatch at a time where even the Cartier Tank watch had not yet been invented. The Cartier Tortue watch sparked the beginning of a fast-growing luxury wristwatch era. Carrying on the historical design elements used for this iconic timepiece, this popular style of watch still evokes that all important vintage charm. The range which caters for both male and female audiences, features a uniquely curved case containing a manual wind calibre for impeccable timekeeping.

There are two distinct design elements seen within the dial of the Cartier Tortue watch. The inner section of the dial comprises of a guilloche textured pattern which draws the eye into the centre of the watch. The intricate detailing of the dial is nothing short of beautiful. It represents Cartier’s devotion to the finer details of their wristwatches, which of course, are considered just as important as the major features of each watch. The outer edge of the dial is a chunky border of Roman numerals which keep hold of a traditional feel running throughout the design. The distinctive case, the glass front and the crown are all loyal design traits of the original 1912 models, yet the new age Cartier Tortue watches have much more of a modern feel on the wrist. The softened edges of their cases have been beautifully polished for an irresistible finish, appealing to those with modern tastes. The much more expansive numerals are incredibly eye catching – they fill the dial with true Cartier presence. And the sapphire crystal glass is a fortifying finish to the dial. It rids of any undesirable glare through the glass and resists scratching and denting to the surface of the dial preserving an unwavering beauty.

The Cartier Tortue white gold and diamond set watch on a pink leather strap, is one of our favourite designs from the collection. Bursting with true Cartier spirit, the timepiece features a breath-taking diamond set bezel on a case manufactured from the finest 18ct white gold metal. The clean, elegant look of the watch is adorned with feminine touches, like the fuchsia-pink alligator skin strap with matching white gold buckle. The silvered flinque dial is home to large black transferred Roman numeral hour markers, which are visited by the familiar blue steeled central hands. This beautiful ladies Cartier Tortue watch is also water resistant to 30 meters and is powered via the manual wind calibre 8970MC movement, to promise round-the-clock accuracy.
