The Georg Jensen Vivianna Archive jewellery collection compiles some of our favourite iconic pieces designed by the most internationally celebrated Swedish silversmiths after the war - Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe. Breaking traditions for the time in which these jewellery pieces were created, designs developed by the innovator broke away from the norm and caught the eye of many a fashion follower. Her designs were bold, influential and used asymmetric fluid forms that enhanced a modern feel whether they be bangles, earrings or pendants.
Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe shared the same vision as Georg Jensen when creating elegant pieces of jewellery for the fashionable female. The designs had to be practical and functional for wearing as well a beautiful to look at. The hollowware and homeware products she created possessed the same qualities and had a distinct style that was instantly recognisable as one of the Danish company’s creations. Some of Torun’s hand-made jewellery from the early 1950s became an instant success in Paris where she lived at the time. Pablo Picasso, Brigitte Bardot, Ingrid Bergman and Billie Holiday all became absorbed by her stunning artistic designs and collected some of her most iconic pieces.
Georg Jensen jewellery created by Vivianna Torun Bülow-Hübe features sculptural forms that trace the contours of the wearer’s body. It’s therefore easy to see how these designs were associated with ultimate femininity, since they celebrated the woman’s curves, and her voluptuous, elegant shape. Torun also took plenty of inspiration from natural elements surrounding her. She wanted her jewellery pieces to give the lady confidence when wearing something that enhanced her inner and outer beauty. The pieces of jewellery she created were and still are versatile, appealing to ladies who exercise an adventurous side to jewellery wearing – those who like to mix and match their pieces together to create a different look every day of the week.
Our collection of Vivianna Archive designs here at Berry’s features designs like the Georg Jensen Vivianna Archive silver bangles which perfectly encapsulate contemporary design sensibilities. The creations, although chic and modern, are also a nostalgic nod to the past since many of the designer’s creations were made for Georg Jensen during the 1950’s, 1960’s and 1970’s. The bangles have been crafted from a single piece of sterling silver which curls around the lady’s elegant wrist contours, finishing with a sumptuous sphere shape. The entire bangle has received an immaculate surface polish – a finish that would allow any lady to see her reflection in. The centrepiece of each bangle is a precious gemstone. Whether in love with the rich and luxurious black agate stone or drawn to the beauty of the perfectly rounded Amethyst stone that sits inside the other bangle from this same collection – a touch of colour is certain to be added to your daily attire.
