During the last few weeks of lockdown, we have been working very hard to create a safe environment for our customers and colleagues to continue to experience our stores in comfort and safety. Some of the measures we have instigated include a full Covid-19 risk assessment of each store along with a deep clean and reorganisation of serving desks where required, onto which we have installed protective screens and we have a hand sanitiser station in each of our entrance areas and gloves and masks will be available if requested. We have invested in the latest LED Ultra Violet cleansing technology, where each store has a special machine to cleanse any items of jewellery or watches before and after trying it on. To aid in the security of all concerned, entry into our stores will be strictly controlled by our expert security personnel and a member of our store team will welcome you into the store and guide you to the appropriate place once inside our luxurious showrooms. Our insurers and the police have requested that we need to see the full face of any visitors before entering the store, by temporarily removing their mask for a few seconds prior to entry, when you can of course replace your mask if you so wish. Wherever possible we would encourage just one person to visit the store, but as we know that buying watches and jewellery are usually for a special occasion, we will of course accommodate two people to choose that memorable piece, but we will limit the number of customers in the stores at any one time to make sure that the two metre social distancing rule is observed. Each store will implement an appointment system to facilitate this, so we can still offer you that personal, unhurried shopping experience, please contact your preferred store directly to book an appointment once we reopen, but you can still shop without an appointment of course.

Please note that up until the 1st of July 2020, due to hygiene reasons, we will not be accepting any general watch or jewellery repairs into the stores, this excludes any items under guarantee, where we will still take these in and arrange their safe repair. Until further notice we cannot carry out any ‘while you wait’ jewellery cleaning or minor watch repairs or adjustments either. We would like to point out that several watch manufacturers have extended the guarantee on their products to cover the period of lock down and we have also extended the expiration of any outstanding credit notes by three months. Where possible, we would ask you to pay by either a credit or debit card in store or via BACS [with prior arrangement]. Included in our new regime, we will ask all staff not to attend work if they feel unwell or have any suspected Covid-19 symptoms. We will carry our regular hand washing breaks, regularly clean any high contact areas, test our staffs temperature on arrival and keep at least two metres apart to enable social distancing between customers and our colleagues. The measures we have put in place go over and above the British Retail Consortiums recommendations to ensure we meet all of the Government guidelines. For over 123 years our mission has been to deliver a customer experience second to none and we are confident that we can continue this for many more years to come.
