A new name – two case sizes to choose from and a selection of eye-catching dial colours. Berry’s Jewellers introduces the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 watches released at Watches & Wonders 2021
For Watches & Wonders 2021, La Chaux de Fonds-based watchmaker, TAG Heuer, has released a total of seven new Aquaracer watches which are now all available to pre-order at Berry’s Jewellers. Three of these seven new references are a compact 36mm diameter, while the remaining four measure a much broader and masculine 43mm size. The new releases also welcome new materials, as well as a broad selection of dial colours and surface patterns to choose from. They’ve also acquired a new name but come equipped with all the fundamental features expected of the much-loved luxury dive watch. Meet the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 watches…
Out of the seven new Aquaracer Professional 300 watches – one is developed from lightweight titanium and comes in a striking green dial with a matching green unidirectional rotating bezel. The remaining six are forged from robust stainless steel and, like the titanium model, come fitted with an anti-glare sapphire crystal glass top, 300-meter water resistance and additional features that help the watch to uphold this water-resistant capability, such as a screw-down crown and case. There have been some subtle modifications to its design that, of course, is based on the original Aquaracer watch. These include the twelve-sided bezel, which is now fluted but also implemented with a ceramic insert. The internal tooth system underneath the bezel has also been reworked, plus manufacturers at TAG Heuer have also developed the new models with a magnifying lens over the top of the date feature at 6 o’clock. Even more interesting is the fact that this cyclops-style lens is integrated into the surface of the sapphire glass front from the underside, to retain a smooth flat crystal case top. All of the watches come on a stainless steel bracelet (except for the titanium model, which comes on a matching titanium bracelet), finished with a double folding clasp. Each dive watch is also powered by the Calibre 5 – an automatic movement capable of producing a 42-hour power reserve and a performance of 28,800 oscillations per hour. Let’s take a look at some of the new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 watches in a little more detail…
The new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 ref: WBP201A.BA0632 is probably the most classic-looking dive watch belonging to the new series and comes clad in a robust 43mm stainless steel case with a black dial embellished with an engraved horizontal lined pattern. Like all other 43mm new releases, this horizontal dial pattern differentiates the larger sized models from the smaller ones and adds depth to its already sporty look and feel.
Like the other new TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 watches, this stunning blue dial version ref: WBP201B.BA0632 features a matching blue ceramic bezel. All the steel models from the new Professional 300 series are equipped with either a blue or black bezel depending on the design, which can be manipulated only in the counter-clockwise direction. This diver-friendly feature ensures that the wearer can never accidentally extend his remaining dive time underwater and comes with the fluted edge to facilitate easy handling underneath a thick, wet diving suit.
This 43mm silver dial and steel version of the Aquaracer Professional 300 series features a black bezel and is available in a 36mm version too. The smaller model, however, features a wave-patterned dial which first showcased in TAG Heuer’s catalogue in 2019. The hands and hour markers of all the watches from the new series are filled with Super-LumiNova, as seen in this Aquaracer Professional 300 watch ref: WBP201C.BA0632. The date window under its magnifying lens can be referenced at 6 o’clock, balanced by the brand lettering and logo at 12 o’clock. The entire surface of the dial is protected by a scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass lens and the second hand is detectible by a vibrant yellow tip.
The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 300 ref: WBP208B.BF0631 is the only one from the series to feature a case and bracelet crafted from lightweight material. The reverse of the case, like the other models, features an engraved scaphandor diving suit, which has adorned the back of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer watches since 2004. The screw-in crown attached to its robust 300-meter water-resistant steel casing can be easily handled under wet conditions and has been adorned in the iconic TAG Heuer logo.
